The Precinct

Title menu, intro movies, and a first in-engine gameplay frame

The complete six-image guest graph links, Unity plug-ins start, and both observed intro movies play as synchronised 4K video with 48 kHz stereo sound. The title artwork and a readable NEW GAME confirmation render, and holding Triangle begins the world load. An earlier guarded run produced the first verified in-engine gameplay frame.

What works

  • Both intro movies play as synchronised 3840×2160 video with 48 kHz stereo audio.
  • The full 1920×1080 title artwork and a readable NEW GAME confirmation render.
  • Exception delivery to a target thread completes Unity's stop-the-world handshake.

What does not

  • The first world transition still takes minutes: first-use shader translation, driver pipeline compilation, synchronous submission and staging are all expensive.
  • A title-specific compiler workaround was dropped in favour of the general shader path, so the transition needs fresh end-to-end validation before any gameplay claim.

Measured performance

The world-load frame now measures 2.1 s, down from 5.1 s, once descriptor recovery stopped replaying each kernel's prolog for every resource it names.
